Yes, you heard that right.

We took all of the features we loved about our original camper, then stepped it up a notch. To say we’re excited about the Camper 2.0 is certainly an understatement. Our designers have worked long and hard to bring you extra water capacity, a larger fridge, more cooking space, dual sliding doors, and so much more. Enjoy the open road with enhanced amenities.

We sincerely thank you, our 2021 Waitlist members, for being so patient while we developed this completely new product from the ground up. In addition to the great new features, this new redesigned cabinet is made here in the US with the highest quality materials we can find.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Have any of the detailed specs changed?

A. Generally, not. The two beds are the same size and the van itself is identical to the cargo vans we used to build on.

Q. What’s different about the stove?

A. From our existing customer base, most folks wanted the flexibility of a stove that could be used in multiple ways, so we chose to optimize for customer choice. The van will ship with two stoves, each stored in a convenient slide out drawer. The larger stove is a propane fired stove which is designed to be mostly used outside - either at the convenient table that extends from the cabinet on the driver’s side, or on a picnic table at your campsite. There is a simple one burner butane stove for cooking inside your van. Of course nothing limits you from bringing the two burner stove inside. While two fuel sources might seem odd, they are a great combination and offer tremendous flexibility. You also can leave both stoves at home and have more storage. Or just bring the smaller butane stove w/ one burner.

Q. What are the other key differences?

A. We have more than doubled the water capacity, and provided the ability to have a small hose extension off the side of the van for rinsing feet, dogs, etc. The fridge is almost 10% larger. We’ve upgraded all the lighting throughout the van and improved the auxiliary battery system, which includes a wireless charging port in the rear of the van. The one significant trade off we did make was to limit the rear seat’s travel to the forward most position. We had to make this compromise to allow for the larger fridge. The seat still travels into three locations for flexible storage.

Q. Dual Sliders?

A. Yes. As we now build the camper on the Passenger model chassis, you get a van with two sliders doors. We are the first to admit we were a bit sad to lose the cozy and comfortable feeling of only one slider door, but the benefits of access on the driver’s side to the cabinet and all the features it unlocked are well worth that small tradeoff.

Q. Rear Doors?

A. The video shows the barn door style doors in the rear, but all the 2021 vans we order have the lift gate which we find a much more useful implementation.

Q. Safety?

Please keep in mind that because the upper part of the cabinet interferes with the rear airbag, we disable this. Camper 1.0, was built on a Cargo van, and had no rear airbags at all. The front and passenger side airbags are all still operable. The rear seat is the same crash tested seat with three 3-pt. seat belts and 2 LATCH connection points for car seats.

Q: Do the swivel seats still function?

Even with the new cabinet configurations, the driver and passenger seats function and swivel exactly the same.

Q. I really liked the other version. Can I get it?

A. Sadly, no. We have ordered all our vans for 2021 and we have no more Cargo vans.

Q. Are the sleeping areas still the same size?

A. Yes. The lower bed, seat and pop top are identical to previous versions.

Q. Is the inside table the same?

A. Yes. The inside table is still the same. There is an additional surface area table outside the van on the now-accessible cabinet on the driver’s side.

Q. Is the cost the same?

A. Yes. The base conversion is still $52,995 and the vans are around $45,900. Options are priced separately - most people opt for the Lift Kit and an Awning. The vans we have ordered are fully loaded with every popular feature and safety option.
