Doug B.

“My wife and I have had a Peace Vans Metris Full Camper since 2019. I think ours was the 7th or 8th conversion that Peace Vans completed. I am writing to say what a wonderful experience we have had with the personnel and products at Peace Vans. After our initial purchase, small adjustments at the shop were done rapidly, successfully, and free to make everything work as expected.

Overall, I can't say enough positive about the timely, attentive, skilled, helpful, and innovative service we have received from Peace Vans. Our experience indicates that they value and respect their customers and bend backward to solve any emerging problems. Our experience indicates that Peace Vans is dedicated to customer satisfaction and ready to help and advise whenever needed. As satisfied customers, we are happy to act as ambassadors who rave about how great the van is, its great gas mileage, well-thought-out layout, easy use, and the pleasure it gives us. Not to mention the welcoming, innovative, can-do approach of all the staff we have interacted with. What could be better?!”

Laura and Darral L.

“We were approaching retirement and looking for a vehicle to park in our downtown high-rise’s underground parking space. Through online searches, Darral found Peace Vans.

When we were first married, we had a ’78 Westfalia, so when touring a Metris Full Camper, we felt right at home. We generally eat out very little, so we are heavy fridge users, both stoves and the sink. Making our afternoon coffee at random scenic spots is something we relish. The effective heater is deeply appreciated when camping in the cold, and the upgraded battery does a great job with our electronics.

Our van has the lift and has performed well on gravel roads to trailheads. The Metris is easy to drive with the pep needed for passing on back roads and traction for getting around snowy Denver streets.“

Peace Vans Customers

Doug and Lyn L.

We’ve been lucky enough to know Doug and Lynn for almost five years, working on their absolutely awesome 1991 VW Syncro Westy. While we had their Syncro dialed in, spiffed up, and reliable, Doug and Lyn wanted to do longer trips with some more comfort and never used the AWD capability of their VW camper. After watching our Metris business take flight, they committed to their own Metris, and we somewhat sadly listed their Syncro for sale on our main shop’s website. Experienced with the camper van mindset, they quickly hit the road for some shakedown trips. The results?

Wow, you guys. Peace Vans really nailed it. We knew we would get a world-class van based on our long relationship with you, but spending our first nights in the van was a real treat. The best part? The pop top is actually comfortable for adults, unlike the VW! While we’ll miss the waves on the road from other VW owners, we are excited to meet other Peace Vans Metris owners as that family grows. We can’t wait to show the van off and recommend it more.”

Never Spent a Night in A Van Before. It’s important never to say, “So and so is one of our favorite customers,” and honestly - we almost universally *love* all our customers. But … Nancy is genuinely one of our favorites. We don’t even know how Nancy first found us, but she came through the shop pretty much already convinced our Metris camper was what she wanted, even though she’d never owned a van. We worked with Nancy to understand her needs, and it seemed like our Full Camper was the right choice. Fast forward to pick-up day, and Nancy drove over to Alki Beach in West Seattle, where she promptly spent her first night in a van and continued south to California, ending up at 67 straight nights in her van. Cheers to you, Nancy!

Holger and Wendy P.

“After about ten years of contemplating so many different van options, our dream has come true. We have always been world travelers and campers; this now adds a new venture to our life and lifestyle. We are so happy with the end result of the van and the options we picked. Thank you for making a superior product and for the work crafting and creating it. The wait was certainly worth it.

We are now excited to enjoy the van right away during our trip through the PNW, Oregon, and back to California. Adam put together a great route for us, including Camp Forever Young and Kalaloch, where we will start after leaving Bellingham. It's wonderful to join the Peace Vans family, and we look forward to staying connected.”

“I am so impressed with our Metris's (named Vanessa) attitude and handling in snow. I've been snowboarding at Mount Hood with a buddy for a few days, driving roads with lots of fresh and packed snow, and the Metris simply powers up hills, brakes without slipping, and grips the corners with aplomb. We do have the KO2 tires, which are amazing, and we never had to bust out the chains. I have to say I was apprehensive about owning an RWD, but this van is in another category and inspires confidence. And it’s so much fun getting ready in a spacious, warm van (Webasto is a game changer!) while the wind and cold blast outside. Then, in the afternoon, make some coffee van-side, have a snack, and head back up the ski lifts. Vanessa enhances and elevates the outdoor experience. I could not be happier!

“I just had the most amazing road trip in my Metris Camper 1.0! It was her maiden voyage and a trip I had been looking forward to for a long time. We drove down through CA and over to Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon before hitting up Joshua Tree and Sequoia on the way back home.

As you probably can imagine, it was fantastic, and the camper did great! It seriously was everything I had hoped it to be coming off my old Vanagon Westy, and I could not be happier with my decision to go this route. Thank you all for such a great product and for doing what you do.”

Linda L.

Instead of trying to summarize Linda’s experiences, we thought we’d let her words speak:

“I’ve had [my camper] for a month now, and I waited awhile to write for two reasons. First, following too closely all that correspondence we had before I picked it up might cause you to fear you’d acquired a forever pen pal, but if I waited, you’d relax and no longer feel anxious each time you opened your email. Second, I wanted to speak from a position of experience and not just relief at having finally driven it out of the showroom. You’re the judge of the first, but I will judge the second.

In the last 3 weeks, I’ve taken 3 trips, camping in 5 different campgrounds. The first two were solo trips and the third included my daughter and 6-year old grandson ... I have high expectations for the camper I chose. I slept well, both below and above; I could make coffee without crawling out of the coziness of my lower bunk; when it was breezy, I sat comfortably inside gazing out through the open side door, and; I had more than enough specialized storage space to stow necessary camping items and the young one’s bike.  AND, there were aspects that far surpassed those old VW’s I had. The top went up and down so easily! The clothes closet held more than enough of my wardrobe - for all seasons! Moving the backseat forward is amazingly useful! The finishes are so tasteful, from seats to headliner to curtains to cabinets. Whether I’m sitting in it or just thinking about it as I write, I grin in delight and sigh with contentment. How wonderful.

...It has great visibility, and the side mirrors with their safety features are very helpful. It is maneuverable in tight situations. And strangely, it is bigger inside than outside – really.

So, am I satisfied? Yes, indeed. Did I make the right choice? ABSOLUTELY.

PS: And did I mention I love my Peace Van and that it's totally perfect for me?

----------

3 months later….Linda is still thrilled and sent this:

#3.  When it’s rainy, you don’t care, because you’re inside and dry, out of the rain; also, warm.

#2.  When it’s time to pack up to leave, you don’t spend the last hour in your beautiful campsite on your knees, sweeping and rolling up your dampish tent, cursing it because it won’t fit into its carrying sack; ditto the sleeping bag.

#1.  When you’re out doing errands at 12:30pm, and someone texts to see if you want to take over their reservation at Iron Creek CG that night and the next because something’s come up, and you think about it for like 3 seconds, and say, “hell yeah”, and you swing by Mod Pizza for one of their big salads and get gassed up at Costco, zoom home, throw clean underwear and home-mixed martinis and yogurt and carrots into the van to complement the foods previously stashed there, and all the clothes and bedding and everything else you need is already in its place in the cupboards and drawers, and you are out the driveway and on the road by 2pm.

Thank you, Peace Vans.

Bike Rack

Jerry W.

Jerry called us out of the blue one day, asking if we could configure a Metris Weekender in such a way that he could secure two of his road bikes. Jerry travels the US doing epic rides and was tired of the spending for bad hotels and missing out on great camping. A Peace Vans Modern Weekender would be just the ticket if only we could fit and secure two bikes. We went to our literal drawing boards and engineers, and - voila! - we could do it and do it well. But, the actual test was that day in August when Jerry flew out to get his van (purchased over the phone) and fit his two bikes in (which he shipped to us ahead of time and we assembled). And, BAM! - they fit beautifully, and Jerry drove off into the proverbial sunset (it was a cloudy PNW day). In his own words:

“Harley, Adam, and the entire Peace Van staff,

Thank you for the old-fashioned customer service you provided me during my decision to order a weekender conversion to the delivery. You proved to deliver on your voice shake (handshake) just like business was done 30 years ago. I am delighted I put my trust in you. Some of my riding group could not believe I would order an upfit, site unseen. I appreciate the time Adam spent showering me with how everything operated during the delivery. I was able to pop the top in the dark the first time I used it.

After 4200 miles, I am pleased. I will recommend Peace Vans, a small business that wears its integrity proudly.

Sincerely, Jerry”
